What is the link between responsible data and resilient business? A lot.

People will pay more for a responsibly-made product from a responsibly-run business. People will switch service providers to align their spend with their values. We’re finding similar customer preferences with digital products.

87 percent of North Americans said they would not do business with a company if they had concerns about its data security practices. Mckinsey, 2020

In an increasingly online world, our definition of responsibility must change with the times. Beyond carbon reduction, fair pay, and D&I, a responsible business must include a responsible data practice. It’s more important now than ever to de-risk your product strategy from costly interventions caused by future data and privacy regulations, and get ahead of the curve.



Sarah Gold

Sarah Gold, founder and CEO of IF, is an expert on building trust in new and emerging technology. A systems designer, Sarah founded IF in 2015 and has a well-established reputation for her commitment to changing the way personal data is managed. 

Sarah has won a range of awards including: Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2016, a New Radical Award from NESTA in 2016, a Creative Conscience Gold Prize in 2015, and a Future Pioneer award from The Design Council in 2014. Sarah gave evidence to a select committee in Parliament on automated decision making, she’s a Fellow of the RSA and a practitioner for the Research Institute in the Science of Cyber Security. She is an influential voice in UK technology.

Daniel Harvey

Global Creative Director, Babylon

Daniel is Global Creative Director at Babylon Health. His work has empowered millions to create new opportunities through products and services. Prior to Babylon Health, he held senior leadership roles in agencies, consultancies, and startups like R/GA, Publicis Sapient, and The Dots. Daniel writes and speaks about design and tech at Fast Company, The Drum, SXSW, and IxDA. He's a passionate advocate for radical inclusion in the creative industries.

Ploipailin Flynn

Business Lead, Projects by IF

Ploipailin is IF’s Business Lead, responsible for connecting IF with other purpose-driven teams and businesses. Ploipailin leads IF’s campaign for anti-racist product design.  

At IF, Ploipailin leads its relationships with big tech like Facebook, and Google; public organisations like the ICO, DCMS, and GDS; and consumer rights groups like Which? and Consumer Report.

Julie leads regulatory and government relations, steers ethics framework development liaising closely with the Yoti Guardians Council, and prepares Yoti for external accreditations – such as ISO 27001, BCorps for ethics and transparency and the SOC2 security accreditation.
